Wynn says no opening date change announced for Al Marjan Island

Focus Gaming News contacted the company after Bloomberg reported it was weighing a delay to the UAE resort due to the conflict with Iran.

Wynn Resorts has not announced any change to the opening schedule of its Al Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah, the company told Focus Gaming News.

The statement came in response to a report by Bloomberg, published on May 5, which suggested Wynn was weighing a delay to the project due to the conflict in the region. When contacted by Focus Gaming News, a company spokesperson said: “The company has not made any announcement about a change in the opening date of Wynn Al Marjan Island.”

The project remains scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.

Construction milestones

Recent updates from the project suggest construction continues to advance. Wynn Bridge, a 548-metre link connecting the resort to key road infrastructure, is nearing the halfway mark and remains on track for completion in late 2026.

The main tower has already reached close to its full height, with structural works completed and façade installation well advanced. Across the wider property, guest accommodation structures are finished, and interior fit-out is underway. These latest figures suggest the project continues to move forward to reach its 2027 scheduled opening.

The US$5.1bn integrated resort will be the first licensed land-based casino in the UAE and is among the most closely watched gaming developments globally.
