Lithuania’s Gambling Supervisory Authority has fined UAB Baltic Bet €12,450 for “organising gambling outside of gambling regulations.”

Lithuania.- The national regulator, the Gambling Supervisory Authority, has fined UAB Baltic Bet for breaching regulations. It said the operator offered incorrect odds, failed to cancel bets that should have been cancelled and didn’t place sufficient limits on bets.

The regular also issued a warning to the operator. It said: “the company is warned about the possible violation of the licence to organise betting and is obliged to eliminate the violation within the set term.

“Decisions made by the Gambling Supervisory Authority are not final and may be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Administrative Proceedings of the Republic of Lithuania.”

The penalty comes after the regulator fined Unigames €10,814 last month after a surprise inspection. It found that the operator’s combined betting function offered via a BetBuilder feature breached regulations by allowing players to create multiple bets on single events.

Meanwhile, Lithuania is considering changes to its gaming legislation to allow the creation of online-only licences. Online operators currently have to partner with a land-based operator.
