The Lithuanian gambling regulator has fined Unigames for offering gambling “outside of gambling regulation”.

Lithuania.- The Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Authority has dealt a €10,814 fine to operator Unigames after a surprise inspection. It found that the operator’s combined betting function offered via a BetBuilder feature fell outside of the company’s rules.

The regulator said the building, which let players create multiple bets on single events, was not allowed in the country.

It said: “The company has been warned about the possible violation of the license… and is obliged to eliminate the violation within the set term.”

It’s only the second time the Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Authority has used its right to impose economic sanctions on gambling operators since the implementation of the country’s Gambling Act.

In March, it fined UAB Tete-a-Tete Casino, owner of Cbet, €15,000 for unreasonably placing betting limits on an online gaming customer.

Since then, a new amendment to Lithuania’s gambling laws has been passed, prohibiting all promotion of gambling.

The ban applies to all kinds of publicity through all media, not only television and radio advertising but also all kinds of special events, test games, promotions, discounts, gifts and other incentives.
