Gambling Regulators’ European Forum names Anders Dorph as new chair
GREF’s board reshuffle strikes a balance between continuity and new faces.
Belgium.- The Gambling Regulators’ European Forum (GREF) has appointed a reshaped board for the next two years. Former vice chair Anders Dorph, the director of the Danish gambling regulator Spillemyndigheden has been appointed as chair of the industry body, while Magali Clavie, president of the Belgian Gambling Commission, has been appointed as vice-chair.
The new structure of the board strikes a balance of new faces and continuity as the association aims to reinforces its promotion of cooperation among European gambling regulators. The new faces on the board are Jean-Michel Costes, director of Studies at France’s Observatoire des Jeux alongside new ordinary members Michel Groothuizen, chair of Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) in The Netherlands, and Alexiou Antonis, deputy director general of the Hellenic Gaming Commission in Greece.

Tim Miller, executive director for policy development at the British Gambling Commission remains on the board and inherits the role of treasurer from Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin of France’s ANJ. Meanwhile, mandates have been renewed for ordinary members Kinga Warda, chief officer of policy and international affairs at the Malta Gaming Authority, and Atle Hamar, general director of the Norwegian gambling regulator.
GREF said that Falque-Pierrotin had played a “pivotal role in strengthening GREF as a platform for regulatory collaboration and best practice.”
Falque-Pierrotin said of her tenure: “Throughout my mandate, I have seen encouraging progress in how our European voice contributes to international dialogue, and I believe this foundation will continue to grow stronger. I’m confident the association will continue to flourish under new leadership, and I thank you all for your trust and support. It has been a privilege to serve as your Chair, and I look forward to the association’s future developments.”
GREF was founded in 1989 as an organisation of gaming regulators to facilitate policy discussion and an exchange of ideas. The group seeks to support its members through dialogue and working groups, such as its AML working group. GREF has also published its annual report, which covers May 2024 to May 2025.
