US.- The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council (SWC) has reported that the state’s sports betting gross handle totalled $460m in February. That’s an increase of 11.2 per cent year-on-year and a decrease of 14 per cent from January 2026.
After $2.3m worth of adjustments, gross wagers amounted to $462.3m. Privilege tax totalled $8.5m. The council did not provide a breakdown by operator or sport nor operator revenues.
In January, lawmakers introduced a pair of bills aimed at banning online sweepstakes casinos in the state. House Bill 1885, introduced by Representative Scott Cepicky, and Senate Bill 2136, sponsored by Senator Joey Hensley, seek to classify the operation of promotional sweepstakes models as an “unfair or deceptive act or practice affecting trade or commerce, and is subject to the penalties and remedies as provided in the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977.”
