Maryland sports betting handle increases year-over-year in February

The handle increased 8.4 per cent from the same month in 2025.

US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported that the sports betting handle totalled $515.6m in February. That’s an increase of 8.4 per cent year-over-year, but a decrease of 16.3 per cent from January 2026.

Of the total, $506.7m was bet online and $9m at retail locations. Winnings totalled $464.6m, with operators holding 9.9 per cent of the handle.

The sports betting market generated $7.3m in contributions to the state. Some $5.5m went to the Blueprint Fund, while $1.8m in mobile proceeds went to the General Fund.

Through the first eight months of fiscal year 2026, from July 2025 through February 2026, sports wagering has returned a total of $96.9m to the state.

In February, the six casinos in the state generated a combined $148.5m in revenue from slot machines and table games. That’s a decrease of 4.3 per cent year-on-year. MGM National Harbor led the market with $64.8m in revenue, down 3.1 per cent year-on-year. It was followed by Live! Casino & Hotel with $52m in revenue, down 8.8 per cent.
