Swedish gambling regulator bans more operators from online market

Three operators have received banning orders for targeting Swedish players.

Sweden.- The Swedish gambling regulator Spelinspektionen has announced that it has formally banned another trio of unlicensed operators from targeting Swedish players. The latest banning order was issued against Liquid Entertainment NV.

The regulator said it launched a supervisory case against the Curaçao-registered company after suspicions arose that the website duelbits.com was providing gaming to the Swedish market without a local licence.

It said when checking the website, it found Sweden selected as the default country and the Swedish language was present when registering from a Swedish IP address. It also emerged that either the company or “so-called affiliates” had marketing in Swedish.

“Spelinspektionen’s inspection showed that the website duelbits.com is marketed to Swedish consumers via affiliate websites, content creators and the video streaming platform Kick and advertising spaces in the Google search engine,” the regulator said.

It said no mechanism was in place to prevent Swedish consumers from registering and creating an account on the website.

The announcement of a ban against Liquid Entertaiment follows similar decisions issued this month against Rabocse SRL (gxmble.io, palmcasino.io, seven7.casino, slottio.com, wildzy.io, winstler.co and winzter.com) and Solid Software Solutions SRL (solidlotto.com).
