The South Dakota Commission on Gaming has reported that Deadwood’s casino visitors wagered $113m in January.

US.- According to a monthly report from the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, visitors to Deadwood’s casinos wagered $113m in the first month of 2022. That represents an increase of 6.75 per cent over January 2021. 

Gamblers wagered more than $105m on slot machines, more than $7m on table games and $835,251 on sports bets. The slot machine handle increased by 6.88 per cent year-on-year, while table game handle decreased by 6.11 per cent. Sports wagering became legal at Deadwood casinos in September 2021.

Casinos had a taxable adjusted gross revenue of $9.9m in January, with $892,498 in taxes due to various state, county and local government entities. 

“It’s great to start 2022 with an increase on top of such an incredible year last year,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “We have high hopes that 2022 will be another exceptional year for Deadwood gaming.”
