Sports betting goes live at Deadwood casinos

Sports betting has begun at Deadwood casinos after a final ruling.

US.- The first sporting bets have been wagered at Deadwood casinos while The South Dakota Commission on Gaming has issued its final ruling on a catalogue of sporting events that gamblers will be able to place bets on. The list includes Olympic events, professional and college-level sports. 

Deadwood Gaming Association executive director Mike Rodman said: “We had the kickoff (Thursday) morning at 10am. at Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort with BetMGM and so it’s off to a great start.

He said: “We’re very pleased that we got to this point. And it’s been a long haul getting there.”

South Dakota voted to legalise sports gambling with approximately 58 per cent approval in 2020. The state legislature passed the laws in 2021.
