Second Atlantic City poker room plans to reopen

Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City plans to reopen the day after Christmas Day.

US.- Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City has announced plans to reopen its poker room, making the property just the second casino in the city to bring back live poker since closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic began in March.

The World Series of Poker-branded room will reopen on December 26 at noon. It will then open every day from 12pm until 4am.

New sanitary policies mean masks will be mandatory, seating will be limited to eight per table and polycarbonate dividers will be in place to separate players.

Atlantic City’s largest poker room at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa was the first to open and resume live play on October 21.

Senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s and Caesars Atlantic City, Ron Baumann, said in a statement: “Harrah’s Resort is thrilled to re-open our World Series of Poker room just in time for the new year, which will serve as the destination for poker in Atlantic City at our Caesars Entertainment resorts.

“We’ve spent the last several months ensuring we had enhanced health and safety measures in place, so both our players and team members can feel confident when they play at Harrah’s, while allowing us to take an important step forward in responsibly returning more of our table games product to the market.”

By June, Las Vegas already had seven of its poker rooms in operation and Louisiana had also seen one poker room reopen.
