Puyallup Tribe would open a casino in Washington
Washington State could become the host of a new casino operated by local Tribe, Puyallup.
US.- Washington State gaming authorities are negotiating with local Puyallup Tribe the approval of a new gaming venue in the city of Tacoma. The project looks to open a new casino and entertainment centre in the Washington State’s city, which would require an investment of US$370 million by the local Indian tribe.
According to the Indian Tribe Puyallup’s statement, the future operators of the casino are investing that amount to construct the casino that is expected to be ready for the inauguration by December 2019. The news was released this week, whilst the casino operators are negotiating with Washington State’s authorities to allow the project to be set.
The casino proposal was presented a few months ago, but the Puyallup Tribe sent an updated version of the project to the Tacoma City Council on Tuesday this week. The 310,000 sq ft facility will house the Emerald Queen Casino, a 2,000-seat events centre, restaurants and bars, according to the proposal.
“The 110,000sq.ft casino will rival the size of other casinos in the state,” the Puyallup Tribe said. The building, with its striking designs, art, lights and electronic messaging, will “create an Indian casino with the glitz of Las Vegas,” Puyallup Tribe chairman Bill Sterud added.
