Pennsylvania gaming revenue increases in August

August’s revenue was the second-highest monthly in state history.

US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that combined revenue from gaming and fantasy contests was $582.3m in August, up 14.15 per cent year-over-year and 4.41 per cent from July. It’s the second-highest total on record after May of this year, which reached $601m.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the market with $101.3m in revenue, up 15.4 per cent year-on-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort took $98.6m, an increase of 39.2 per cent, and Parx Casino $58.2m, up 8.4 per cent.

Retail slot revenue was $216.6m, up 2.6 per cent year-over-year. The number of slot machines in operation was 24,332 compared to 24,595 in the same month in 2024. Retail table games revenue was $81m, up 0.12 per cent. Tax revenue from slots was $105.3m, while table games generated $12.8m.

Online gaming generated gross revenue of $231.2m, an increase of 25.8 per cent in year-on-year terms. Tax revenue totalled $103.8m.

The sports betting handle was $515.4m, up 6.2 per cent year-over-year, while tax revenue was $49.1m, up 63.8 per cent. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported a $171.7m handle and $18.7m in revenue. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows $147.2m and $12.2m, and Hollywood Casino York $41.3m $3.6m.

Tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $238.5m.
