Pennsylvania gaming revenue increases in May
It’s the first time that monthly gross gaming revenue has exceeded $600m.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that combined revenue from all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $601.8m in May, up 15.52 per cent year-over-year and 8.7 per cent from April. It’s the first time that monthly gross gaming revenue has exceeded $600m.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported $107.1m in revenue, up 31.1 per cent year-over-year, Valley Forge Casino Resort $105.7m, up 32.9 per cent and Parx Casino $59.1m, up 4.4 per cent.
Retail slot revenue was $224.8m, up 5.02 per cent. The number of slot machines in operation was 24,347 compared to 24,862 in May 2024. Retail table games revenue was $79.9m, down 4.55 per cent.
Tax from games revenue was $255.1m: $113.6m from slots and $13.3m from tables.
Online gaming generated gross revenue of $232.8m, up 33.76 per cent year-over-year. Tax revenue was $104.5m.
The sports wagering handle was $655.3m, up 10.72 per cent. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported a $252.7m handle and $28.3 in revenue. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows reported a $168.8m handle and $15.7m in revenue, while Hollywood Casino Morgantown reported $50m and $2.1m. Tax totalled $59.4m, up 34.39 per cent .
New casino at Nittany Mall in Pennsylvania to be named Happy Valley
SC Gaming has announced that its upcoming casino at the Nittany Mall in State College, Pennsylvania, will be named Happy Valley Casino. Construction of the casino is underway and is expected to be complete by early spring 2026. Poole Anderson Construction is the general contractor on the project.
