Ontario igaming wagers increase in May
Wagers increased by 2 per cent from the previous month.
Canada.- iGaming Ontario has reported that online gaming wagers in the Canadian province totalled CA$9.5bn in May. That’s a 2 per cent increase from April. Non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) was CA$413.1m, up 2 per cent from the previous month.
The online casino gaming segment accounted for 88 per cent of all wagers at CA$8.4bn, up 3 per cent from April. Online casino NAGGR totalled CA$326.4m, an increase of 4 per cent.
Sports betting wagers totalled CA$972m, down 7 per cent compared to the previous month. NAGGR was $81.3m, down 5 per cent. Peer-to-peer poker generated CA$134m, up 5 per cent, with NAGGR of $5.4m, up 2 per cent.
In June, OLG added a measure that requires online players under the age of 25 to set deposit limits.
