Oddsgate expands African footprint with KwanzaBet
A move that deepens Oddsgate’s roots in one of the continent’s fastest-maturing regulatory environments.
Press release.- Oddsgate announces the integration of a new operator onto its platform: Angola’s KwanzaBet. The partnership extends the company’s presence on the African continent and reinforces Oddsgate’s commitment to supporting operators in regulated, emerging markets.
A deliberate strategy in Africa
Africa has become one of the most closely watched regions in global igaming, driven by a young population, high mobile penetration, and regulatory frameworks that are steadily maturing.
Angola is following a similar trajectory. The country’s new gaming law, Lei nº 17/24, modernised the regulatory framework under the supervision of the ISJ, extending licensing to online gaming and multi-channel betting while introducing minimum capital requirements and anti-money laundering standards aligned with international norms. This current phase is also comparable to Brazil’s own transition between 2023 and 2025, when a fragmented market moved towards a regime that formally recognised digital and multi-channel operations.
Meet the new partner
KwanzaBet represents exactly the kind of operator Oddsgate looks to support: locally rooted, regulation-conscious, and built for the realities of their own markets rather than adapted from a foreign template.
Rather than positioning itself as a betting website alone, the brand has built a community centred on football, sport, and gaming culture, with roughly a year of market presence and a strong emphasis on local identity, accessibility, responsibility, and energy.
Executive perspective
Commenting on the partnership, Oddsgate and KwanzaBet’s leadership shared their perspectives on what the integration means for their respective markets:
Tiago Almeida, Oddsgate’s CEO, said: “Since [Oddsgate’s] foundation, we have grown alongside Brazil through every stage of its path to regulation, an experience that taught us to anticipate operators’ needs before they surface. Angola shares more than a language with us; they share that trajectory. And because technology alone doesn’t win markets, our B2B managed services in SEO, CRM, and more add an optimisation layer that turns local insights into measurable performance”.
Romilson Teixeira, KwanzaBet’s Sportsbook and Casino Manager, noted, “[KwanzaBet’s] vision is to build an increasingly efficient, technological, secure operation focused on delivering an excellent experience to our players. We consider our partnership with Oddsgate fundamental to our strategic development, as we aim to build a long-term relationship that allows us to align plans, share knowledge, and develop strategies capable of creating competitive advantage and differentiation”.
Looking ahead
With KwanzaBet now backed by Oddsgate’s support and expertise, the company continues to strengthen its position across Africa’s regulated betting markets, championing operators as they enter the next phase of igaming growth on the continent.
“We’re proud to welcome KwanzaBet, a brand deeply rooted in its market, and to support their next phase of growth”, concluded Tiago Almeida.
The company expects Angola to be the first of several African markets where it will deepen its footprint in the coming years.
