Oklahoma Classics returns to Remington Park Racetrack Casino
The 31st running of the Oklahoma Classics offers nearly $1m in purses over eight stakes races.
US.- Oklahoma Classics returns to Remington Park Racetrack Casino on October 20. The 31st running offers nearly $1m in purses over eight stakes races. The racetrack will also celebrate its second Craft Classics Beer Festival, with Oklahoma-owned businesses and nonprofits.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Remington Park Charities. Some of the organisations supported by Remington Park include Autism Oklahoma, Breast Cancer Survivors Oklahoma, Citizens Caring for Children, the Family Awareness and Community Teamwork (FACT) Unit of Oklahoma City Police Department and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.
Matt Vance, Remington Park’s executive vice president of racing, said: “Oklahoma Classics is a night when Remington Park celebrates all things Oklahoma, especially our quality Oklahoma-bred Thoroughbred athletes, jockeys and horsemen. This night also gives us an opportunity to spotlight Oklahoma businesses and support nonprofits in our state through the Craft Classics Beer Festival.”
VIP tickets for the Craft Classics Beer Festival are $45 and include early access, a tasting mug, $5 racing voucher and $10 in casino free play. General admission tickets are $35.
New Osage Casino Pawhuska opens in Oklahoma
The new Osage Casino Pawhuska opened on the Osage Tribe’s reservation in Oklahoma, according to The Pawhuska Journal-Capital. Construction on the property began in June 2021. There were plans for it to be completed by the fall of 2022 to replace the previous casino, which opened in 2003.
The Pawhuska venue hosts 250 electronic games, a 47-room hotel, and 3,675 square feet of meeting space. The resort spans 87,808 square feet and four storeys. It’s one of seven Osage Casinos owned and operated by the Osage Nation. The other six are in the Oklahoma cities of Bartlesville, Hominy, Ponca City, Sand Springs, Skiatook and Tulsa.
