North Carolina sports betting handle increases in September
The handle rose 43 per cent from the previous month.
US.- The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has released its sports wagering revenue report for September. The sports betting handle was $686m, up 43 per cent from August 2025. Account holders won $615.1m.
According to the Commission, gross wagering revenue for the state’s eight licensed online sports wagering operators totalled $66.7m. The estimated tax proceeds for the month were $12m.
North Carolina recently opened two new centres designed to support responsible gaming and address gambling addiction. The two new facilities will provide training, resources and professional opportunities for the behavioral health workforce.
The Center of Excellence for Gambling Addiction Policy and Practice (CEGAPP) and the Professional Development Center (PDC) are led by the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC) and funded by the state’s Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services.
