New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board considers casino applications
The board has met to deliberate over the casino projects.
US.- The New York’s Gaming Facility Location Board has held its first meeting to deliberate over the applications for the state’s gaming licences. Four projects continue in the process.
The five-member panel comprises Cindy Rubi Estrada, Vicki Been, Terryl Brown, Marion Phillips, III and Greg Reimers. They will submit recommendations to the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC), which will make the final ratification. A decision is expected for December 1.
Of eight applications, four remain in contention for the three available licences: Resorts World in Queens, MGM Empire City in Yonkers, Bally’s in the Bronx, and Metropolitan Park in Queens, led by New York Mets owner Steve Cohen. All proposed projects in Manhattan were rejected at the community committee stage.
