New York online sports betting handle sets new record in October

The handle increased 13.3 per cent year-over-year and surpassed the previous record by 6.02 per cent.

US.- The New York mobile sports betting handle hit a record $2.64bn in October. That’s a rise of 13.3 per cent year-over-year and 15.3 per cent from September. It’s also 6 per cent more than the previous record of 2.48m set in January.

According to the New York State Gaming Commission, revenue was $238.7m, up 35.4 per cent year-on-year. The hold was 9.03 per cent.

FanDuel led the market, with $100.6m in revenue and a $1.01bn handle – the first time an operator has surpassed $1bn. DraftKings followed with $938m in bets and $82.9m in revenue.

Fanatics posted $18.7m in revenue off a $205.7m handle, BetMGM $14.4m from $187.5m, Caesars $13.2m from $175.8m handle, Rush Street Interactive $4.4m from $53m and ESPN Bet $3.4m from $60.3m.

A major shakeup on the US sports betting market will see ESPN Bet disappear. Disney’s sports media group has entered a deal with DraftKings, while Penn Entertainment’s online sportsbook will be rebranded as theScore Bet.
