US.- The New york mobile sports betting handle totalled $2.04bn in August, up 41.9 per cent year-over-year and 45.9 per cent from July 2025. According to the New York State Gaming Commission, gross gaming revenue was $178.2m, up 42.6 per cent year-on-year and 14.5 per cent from July. It was the third-lowest monthly total so far in 2025.

The hold was 8.72 per cent. FanDuel led the market with $66.9m in revenue from a $561.9m handle. DraftKings reported $62.3m from $579.6m in bets, Fanatics $16.1m off $565.8m and BetMGM $13.8m in from a $130.4m handle.

Caesars reported $10.7m off $113.5m, Rush Street Interactive $4m off $40.8m, ESPN Bet $3.6m off $40.8m, Bally Bet $839,409 from $11.7m and Resorts World $229,357 off $2.8m.

Freedom Plaza developers sign MoU with New York Council on Problem Gambling

The Soloviev Group and Mohegan recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG) to establish a Problem Gambling Resource Center (PGRC) in Freedom Plaza. The entertainment venue is one of the applicants for a New York casino licence.

Modelled on Ontario’s PlaySmart Centres at Mohegan’s Niagara casinos, the PGRC at Freedom Plaza would be a designated private space providinge “self-serve” and “full-serve” options with professionals available to deliver educational resources. It would include interactive kiosks and educational videos on responsible gaming.
