The nine casino and racinos represented in the state gaming association generated US$2.5 billion in 2017.
US.- According to a new report from the New York Gaming Association (NYGA), the nine casinos and racinos represented in the state generated US$2.5 billion in economic activity in 2017. VLTs also generated more than US$1.5 billion.
The association’s report indicates that there are more than 170 video lottery terminals (VLTs) in New York, which generated more than US$1.7 billion in gross revenue last year. Since the arrival of electronic gambling in 2004, the report details that association’s members have generated more than US$8.5 billion for education aid.
Association’s president President Mike Kane said that the past year was marked by change, challenge and opportunity for both members individually and the industry as a whole. “With the advent of new commercial casinos, the total “pie” of gaming dollars in New York grew in 2017, while NYGA expanded to add new members, including Rivers Casino & Resorts and Jake’s 58 Casino & Hotel,” added the president.
