New Jersey online gaming thrives post-lockdown
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has revealed revenue for July showing the success of online gaming.
US.- Despite the reopening of brick-and-mortar casinos, online gambling activities continued to increase in New Jersey in July, generating $87.5 million in revenues.
This figure beats the previous record of $85.9 million in May, and represent a month-to-month increase of 36.2 per cent on June.
The figures suggest consumers continue to prefer making bets from the comfort of home, rather than deal with land-based casino’s strict sanitary protocols with reduced capacity and a more limited selection of games.
Online slots and table games came out on top, generating $82.6 million of the total revenue.
Golden Nugget, which has a market share of 34 per cent, continues to be the leading online casino in New Jersey.
PointsBets now plans to take on the New Jersey online casino market in 2021 after signing a deal with Twin River Worldwide Holdings.
