Michigan igaming revenue increases in July
Gross receipts from igaming and online sports betting were up 28.8 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported that commercial and tribal online gaming operators registered a combined total of $284.6m in gross receipts from igaming and online sports betting in July. That’s up 28.8 per cent year-over-year and down 0.2 per cent compared to June’s $285.2m.
Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) reached $259.1m. Of the total, $235.2m came from igaming, and $23.9m from online sports betting. Igaming AGR increased by 4.1 per cent and sports betting AGR decreased 21.6 per cent from the previous month. Year-over-year, igaming AGR increased 36.5 per cent and sports betting AGR by 38.7 per cent.
Operators submitted $50.5m in state taxes and payments. Detroit’s three casinos reported $12.5m in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit. Currently, 12 operators offer online sports betting and 15 igaming.
The MGCB recently issued cease-and-desist letters to 15 unlicensed online gambling operators. The regulator said the platforms have been found targeting residents without authorisation.
Casinos in Detroit
Detroit’s three casinos, MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown, collectively generated $107.0m in revenue in July. That’s up 5.9 per cent from June and 1 per cent year-over-year.
According to the MGCB, table games and slot machines accounted for $106m of the monthly total, while retail sports betting contributed $1m. Revenue from table games and slots decreased by 0.3 per cent year-over-year but increased 5.6 per cent from June 2025.
