Michigan igaming revenue decreases in June
Gross receipts from igaming and online sports betting were down 5.4 per cent.
US.- Michigan’s commercial and tribal online gaming operators reported a combined $285.2m in gross receipts from igaming and online sports betting in June. That’s a 5.4 per cent decrease compared to May’s $301.43m. According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), the online sports betting handle was $302.7m, down 21.6 per cent from May’s $386.1m.
Igaming gross receipts totalled $240.6m, down from May’s $251.47m. Gross sports betting receipts were $44.6m, down from $49.96m.
Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for igaming and online sports betting were $256.5m: $226m came from igaming and $30.5m from online sports betting. Igaming AGR decreased by 37.3 per cent year-over-year, while sports betting AGR increased by $58.7m.
Operators reported submitting $48.9m in state taxes and payment. Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $12.3m in wagering taxes and municipal services to the City of Detroit.
MGCB stated that as of June, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorised: 12 offer online sports betting and 15 igaming. The Michigan regulator recently issued cease-and-desist letters to 19 illegal online gaming operations found to be targeting state players in its biggest batch of enforcement letters yet.
