Michigan Gaming Control Board approves Hard Rock Bet

The online gaming and online sports betting platform replaces 888 VHL, which has exited the state market.

US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has approved the launch of Hard Rock Bet as the new online gaming and sports betting provider for the Hannahville Indian Community, which operates the Island Resort & Casino in Harris. Hard Rock Bet replaces 888 VHL, which has exited the Michigan market.

The MGCB said Seminole Hard Rock Digital’s platform had completed all licensing requirements, allowing it to provide online gaming and sports betting on behalf of the Hannahville Indian Community from today (December 2). The platform provider must offer only MGCB-approved games and wager types and must use approved suppliers, registered vendors and approved cashiering locations.

MGCB executive director Henry Williams said: “This approval reflects our continued focus on maintaining integrity, transparency, and consumer protection in Michigan’s online gaming and sports betting space. We look forward to seeing the Hannahville Indian Community and Hard Rock provide a safe, responsible, and enjoyable wagering experience for players across the state — and especially for those served by one of Michigan’s long-standing tribal gaming operators in the Upper Peninsula.”

Hard Rock Bet launched in Colorado in July.

Michigan’s commercial and tribal online gaming operators reported a combined $352.3m in gross receipts from igaming and online sports betting in October. That’s a 16.4 per cent increase from September 2025.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported that the online sports betting handle was $605.9m, up 15.6 per cent from the previous month. Igaming gross receipts were $278.5m, the highest to date. Gross sports betting receipts were $73.8m, up from September’s $43.6m.
