Michigan authorities seize over 50 alleged illegal gaming machines

The Department of Attorney General and Michigan Gaming Control Board conducted a joint investigation.

US.- A joint investigation by the Michigan Department of Attorney General and the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has led to the confiscation of over 50 illegal gaming machines from a location in the city of Adrian. On June 4, investigators executed a search warrant at Games 4 U, 2984 Treat Hwy., Unit C.

Assisted by the Madison Township Police Department, authorities confiscated 42 slot-style machines, 10 computer-based gambling machines, $8,715 in cash, and 20 gift cards.

MGCB executive director Henry Williams said: “The Michigan Gaming Control Board remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring compliance with all state gambling regulations. We will continue to work diligently to identify and eliminate any illegal gambling activities that pose a threat to the integrity of the industry and the welfare of the public.”

In April, the regulator announced that it had issued cease-and-desist orders to 45 offshore gambling operators over the past four months. The regulator stated that the platforms have been unlawfully offering online casino games and sports wagering to residents in the state.

Responsible gaming campaign

The MGCB recently announced the launch of a campaign aimed at protecting young people from underage and problem gambling. The Don’t Bet on Your Future campaign introduces new resources for youth, schools, and families.

The campaign includes a High School Boosters Programme that invites school-affiliated booster clubs to become frontline advocates for youth gambling prevention.
