The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) ruled that both CZ Trading and Cyberslotz Services had breached regulations.

Malta.- The Maltese regulator has cancelled the B2C Service Licence issued to CZ Trading, under which it operated the online casino site DrVegas.com with approved service provider Cyberslotz.

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) said that both companies had breached regulation nine of the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations by failing to make licensing payments to the regulator “in a timely manner”.

CZ Trading and Cyberslotz are therefore no longer authorised to run gaming operations under their Malta licences and were ordered to settle all outstanding fees with the MGA.

Last month, the MGA reported a drop in revenue in 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Revenue came in at €77.3m, down 5.3 per cent from €81.7m in 2019.

The MGA received 58 applications for gaming licences in 2020 and issued 68 licences, including spillovers from 2019. Some 20 applications were either rejected by the MGA or withdrawn by applicants. The MGA cancelled 12 licences and suspended three due to breaches of regulations.
