Massachusetts gaming revenue rises in August
Gross gaming revenue at the three casinos was $105.01m, up 5.5 per cent from July.
US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has reported that Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield (MGM), and Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) generated $105.01m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in August. That’s a rise of 5.5 per cent from July.
Encore Boston Harbor reported $65m in GGR, with $26.1m from table games and $38.8m from slots. MGM Springfield generated $24.9m, with $5m from table games and $20m from slots, and Plainridge Park Casino took $15.1m from slots.
Since each gaming facility opened, the Commonwealth has collected $2.2bn in taxes and assessments from the casino operations of PPC, MGM, and EBH.
The seven online sports wagering licensees and the three in-person licensees generated $55.8m in taxable sports wagering revenue (TSWR) in July: $55.1m from online licensees and $681.347 from retail licensees.
To date, the Commonwealth has collected approximately $346.2m in total taxes and assessments from licensed operators’ sports wagering operations since sports wagering began in person on January 31, 2023, and online on March 10, 2023.
