Louisiana gaming revenue rises in August

Revenue was up 11.5 per cent year-over-year.

US.- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) has announced that the state’s casinos, riverboats and racetrack slot machines generated $214.8m in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) in August. That’s a rise of 11.5 per cent from the same month in 2024 and 8.16 per cent sequentially.

Riverboat casinos reported $160.9m in revenue, up 9.2 per cent year-on-year and 6.56 per cent compared to July. L’Auberge Lake Charles led the market with over $30m, an increase of 15.7 per cent year-on-year. It was followed by Golden Nugget Lake Charles, up 5.6 per cent year-on-year to $27.1m. Treasure Chest Casino reported $14m, up 12.9 per cent.

Caesars New Orleans, the only land-based casino hotel in Louisiana, posted gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $25.8m. That’s an increase of 26.6 per cent year-on-year.

Slots at racetracks generated over $28.1m in AGR. Of this total, Delta Downs accounted for $15.6m, up 11.1 per cent.Louisiana Downs and Fair Grounds both saw a drop in revenue in year-on-year terms to around $3m. Louisiana Downs’ revenue fell by 7.4 per cent and Fair Grounds’ revenue by 3.1 per cent. Evangeline Downs’ revenue was up 6.7 per cent year-on-year to $6.6m.
