Massachusetts gaming revenue decreases in June

Gross gaming revenue at Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield, and Encore Boston Harbor decreased by 7.4 per cent from May.

US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has reported that Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield (MGM), and Encore Boston Harbor (EBH) generated $97.68m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in June. That’s down 7.4 per cent from May’s 105.3m.

Encore Boston Harbor reported $60.2m, with $24.7m from table games and $35.5m from slots. MGM Springfield reported $22.8m, $4.5m from table games and $18.3m from slots, and Plainridge Park Casino $14.6m from slots.

Meanwhile, $62.05m in taxable sports wagering revenue (TSWR) was generated across the seven online sports wagering licensees and three in-person licensees. Of the total, $61.6m came from online licensees and $474,426 from retail.

To date, the Commonwealth has collected $2.13bn in taxes and assessments from the casino operations since the respective opening of each gaming facility and $306.47m from sports wagering operations since the market opened on January 31, 2023, and online on March 10, 2023.
