Maryland sports betting handle rises year-over-year in June

The handle increased 29.6 per cent year-over-year.

US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported that the state’s sports betting handle was $523.3m in June. That’s a rise of 29.6 per cent year-over-year but down from $535.4m in May 2026.

Some $515.4m was bet online and $8m at retail. Winnings totalled $468.8m for a hold of 10.4 per cent. The taxable win totalled $38.2m, and the market generated $7.6m in state contributions. Some $5.7m went to public education programmes supported by the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund.

The sports wagering market generated $132.3m in state contributions for fiscal year 2026, from July 2025 through June 2026, a 48.8 per cent increase.

The six casinos in the state generated a combined $156.8m in revenue from slot machines and table games in June. That’s a decrease of 2.4 per cent year-over-year and down from $170m in May.
