Maryland casinos post record revenue for July
Gaming revenue in Maryland set a record high of $180.1m in July, up 28.7 per cent year-on-year.
US.- For the third time in five months, Maryland casinos have set a new record for gaming revenue. Casinos brought in $180.1m, up 28.7 per cent against the same month in 2020.
The state’s casinos set new records for revenue in March, May and June. According to figures from Maryland Lottery and Gaming, the state collected $77.3m in taxes from casinos in July, most of which goes to the Education Trust Fund.
The top performer was MGM National Harbor, Maryland’s largest casino, which generated $72.3m, up 38.2 per cent year-on-year. Live! Casino & Hotel came in second at $62.9m, up 22.1 per cent, and Horseshoe Casino saw growth for the first time in months, up 22.5 per cent to $19.3m.
Double-digit increases were also seen at the remaining venues, Ocean Downs, Hollywood Casino and Rocky Gap Casino.
