Maryland casino revenue drops year-over-year in September
The state’s casinos combined to generate $151.5m in revenue.
US.- The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission has reported that the state’s six casinos combined to generate $151.5m in revenue from slot machines and table games in September. That’s down 5 per cent from September 2024.
MGM National Harbor led the market with $63.1m in revenue, down 5.6 per cent year-over-year. It was followed by Live! Casino & Hotel, with $54.9m, down 7.8 per cent; and Horseshoe Casino with $14m, down 6.7 per cent.
Ocean Downs Casino posted $8.4m, a decrease of 3.8 per cent, Hollywood Casino $6.3m, down 4.6 per cent, and Rocky Gap Casino $4.6m, up 5.1 per cent from the same period in 2024.
Casino gaming contributions to the state totalled $64.9m, down 10.7 per cent year-over-year. Contributions included $46.8m to the Education Trust Fund.
For first quarter of fiscal year 2026, from July 1 through September 30, casino gaming revenue decreased 3.1 per cent. Contributions to the state declined 2.3 per cent. The Maryland Lottery, casinos, sports wagering, and daily fantasy sports generated a combined $1.59bn for state programmes and services.
According to Maryland Lottery and Gaming, casino gaming contributions totalled $831.3m, lottery $667.2m, and sports wagering and daily fantasy sports $89.9m.
