Maryland casino revenue drop slightly in October
Maryland’s six casinos generated $154.9m in revenue last month, down $10.1m from September.
US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has announced that the state’s six casinos combined generated $154.97m in gaming revenue in October 2021. That’s a drop of $10.1m from September 2021, but represents an increase of $1.6m (8.6 per cent) compared to the same period 2020, when the casinos were limited to 50 per cent capacity due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Casinos contributed $68.9m to the state, an increase of 15 per cent compared to $59.9m in October 2020. That included $50m to the Education Trust Fund (ETF), an increase of 14.8 per cent. Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horseracing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
MGM National Harbor generated $55.8m, a decrease of $685,981 (-1.2 per cent) from October 2020. Live! Casino & Hotel generated $60.8m, an increase of $11.2m (22.7 per cent) year-on-year.
The Horseshoe Casino saw revenue of $17.1m, a decrease of $151,046 (-0.9 per cent). Ocean Downs Casino took $7.6m, an increase of $713,393 (10.3 per cent). Hollywood Casino took $7.6m, up $633,706 (9 per cent), and Rocky Gap Casino $5.7m, up 10.5 per cent.
