Loto-Quebec reports 1H fiscal year results
The gambling monopoly reported a revenue increase for the first half of the current fiscal year.
Canada.- Loto-Quebec has reported its revenues for the first six months of the current fiscal year ending September 25. Revenue totalled US$1.06 billion, a 4.6% increase over the first half of the previous fiscal year.
The gambling monopoly from Quebec said that net income also rose 6.3% to more than US$700 million for the six-month period. Lottery revenue was also up 15.6% to US$355.8 million, while casino revenue was flat at US$345 million.
Moreover, the online segment posted impressive results, as the revenue from Espacejeux online gambling site increased 32.6% to US$37,5 million, and online lottery revenue totalled US$10,9 million, which represents a 58.7% year-on-year hike.
“Gaming halls continue to grow, while the withdrawal of video lottery terminals resulted in a decrease in revenues for the bar and brasserie network. Pilot project preparations for launching our new electronic bingo offering called bingo+ are now complete. Bingo+ has been available in the first hall since early October,” added Loto-Quebec in the report.
