Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has granted a provisional gaming licence to a Landing International Development Ltd unit to operate a casino in the country. Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corp has secured the permit “to operate a casino at the integrated leisure and entertainment resort within Entertainment City,” in Metro Manila.
Landing International explained that there will be a ground breaking ceremony on August 7th and forecasted the project to be ready to begin operating “in early 2022.”
“We would like to thank Pagcor for their vote of confidence in granting Landing Philippines a provisional gaming licence in the Philippines and the opportunity to strategically expand our Landing brand into the Philippines,” Landing International chairman and executive director Yang Zhihui said in a prepared statement. In addition, he said this “is an ideal opportunity” to expand in Southeast Asia and added: “NayonLanding will be able to leverage on the growing brand equity in Jeju Shinhwa World to attract more Koreans and tourists in the region to visit the Philippines.”
Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corp will lease 9.5 hectares in the Manila Bay within Entertainment City and is set to develop a venue in a 610,000 square-meter-construction floor. The project is expected to include a “casino; an indoor cultural theme park and water park featuring the Philippines’ rich history, culture and heritage; an indoor movie-based theme park; a convention centre; luxury hotels; retail; and dining areas”.
