John Boyle will return to an executive role at BoyleSports as Mark Kemp departs for DAZN.

Ireland- The Irish sports betting giant BoyleSports has confirmed that Mark Kemp is to step down as chief executive to head up the new sportsbook division at the streaming platform DAZN. The former managing director of the UK Tote Group will leave in July.

Kemp replaced Conor Grey as CEO of BoyleSports last June. It’s reported that company founder John Boyle will return to an executive role while the company seeks a replacement. Grey, who remains at BoyleSports leading the company’s international expansion plans, will also support the role.

It’s expected that Boyle will look to restructure the leadership of the company, which is also looking for a new online managing director after the departure of Eddie Bennet earlier in the year.

In November, BoyleSports announced its acquisition of independent bookmaker Tully Bookmakers‘ ten remaining retail betting venues in Ireland, taking its portfolio of retail betting shops in Ireland and Northern Ireland to 268.

BoyleSports has betting shops in the UK – an expansion that began with its acquisition of the independent bookmaker Wilf Gilbert in 2019 – and it plans to enter the Netherlands’ new online gaming market.

Kemp heads to DAZN, a streaming platform with strong financial backing from Sir Leonard Blavatnik’s Access Industries fund. Last year DAZN poached Entain CEO Shay Segev for CEO duties just six months into his tenure in the position. Segev was replaced at Entain by Jette Nygaard-Andersen.
