iGaming webs seek recognition in India
iGaming websites have joined forces to seek legal approval in the Telangana State of India.
India.- The Telangana & Andhra High Court has received a demand by local iGaming operators where platforms ask for legal permissions. As reported by Asia Gaming Brief, the state’s online gaming websites Ace2Three, Rummy Circle and Junglee Rummy have filed the report in order to seek further regulation.
The three companies have joined forces to fight a legal battle which could lead to a new legislation in the Indian state. The demand challenges the current law that bans online gaming platforms offering bets on rummy games.
The latest online gaming legislation was signed by the Telangana state’s office last Saturday dismissing operating platforms, according to the news outlet. Under the current law, iGaming services have been totally banned, including skilled-games offerings that Ace2Three, Rummy Circle and Junglee Rummy used to operate.
iGaming companies in the Indian state have shut down their operations in the local market, whilst some of them retired their entire services from the national market as Ace2Three did. The legal demand seeks a special permission to operate skill-games such as rummy through online gaming platforms.
