Hard Rock moves forward with NJ casino

Hard Rock International has taken another step towards its new casino opening in Atlantic City.

US.- Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, in New Jersey, is getting closer to opening. According to an official statement published by the American company, the first career events will be held throughout this week in order to define the employee team for May’s grand opening of the expected venue, previously known as Trump Taj Mahal.

Representatives of Hard Rock International will choose the future employee team and they allegedly will prioritise former workers of the gaming and hotel salon, which used to be operated by the company of current president of the USA, Donald Trump. The luxurious Taj Mahal shut its doors after conflicts with employees.

The 2018 summer opening may include a restaurant and poolside gambling, fantasy sports betting, skill-based slots and hidden VIP gambling rooms. During a conference earlier this year, Chairman of Hard Rock International Jim Allen said that the proposal is set to create more than 1,000 construction jobs and once it’s finalised, an additional 3,000 permanent jobs will be set in place.

The opening would also include approximately 2,400 slots and 130 gaming tables. According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Hard Rock International paid US$50 million for the Trump Taj Mahal.  For the Atlantic City-based casino, billionaire Carl Icahn received just 4 cents on the dollar in comparison to the US$1.2 billion it cost Donald Trump in 1990.
