Gaming revenue grows in Nevada
The latest numbers reveal that gaming revenue increased 1.19 percent in Nevada last month.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported that the state’s gaming revenue was 1.19 percent up to US$886 million compared to the same period last year, when Nevada reached US$876 million.
Whilst the growth exists, and it’s significantly lower than the one reported in March with a 7.45 percent, the control board found a perfect explanation: that month was driven by the NCAA basketball tournament as well as positive numbers from slots and table games. Las Vegas Strip experienced a 3.25 percent decrease to US$475 million, mainly because table games winnings fell to US$288 million, a 6.75 percent decline year-over-year.
On the other hand, slots revenue was 5.5 percent up to approximately US$599 million, and sportsbook also achieved a 11.8 percent growth to US$15.1 million. Baseball revenue reached a new record last month with a 27 percent increase to US$10.1 million. As Las Vegas Sun said, Michael Lawton, senior research analyst Tax and License Division, explained that North Las Vegas and the Boulder Strip had positive increases as well.
