US.- FanDuel has partnered with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks to open a sportsbook at the United Center, the teams´ home. The deal needs approval from the Illinois Gaming Board.

The FanDuel Sportsbook in Chicago, Illinois, would include a two-story venue next to the arena’s atrium. It would be equipped with state-of-the-art viewing and sports wagering technology.

FanDuel Group CEO Amy Howe said: “Chicago sports fans are some of the most loyal and passionate in the world and plans for our sportsbook lounge inside the United Center reflect their excitement.

“Our team has a track record of delivering incredible retail locations for fans, and we can’t wait to make this sportsbook lounge the premier destination for Chicago sports fans and a place where they can fully experience the FanDuel brand.”

While waiting for approval, the United Center and FanDuel will develop a non-wagering space next to the arena atrium. The new space will allow fans to watch live sports while attending different events.

In December, Chicago City Council’s Joint Committee on Zoning and License City Council has given its OK to a move to lift the ban on in-stadium sports betting in the city. The decision was validated by nineteen votes to seven. The proposal would initially allow sports betting at five stadiums.

Bets would be allowed at Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, the United Center, Guaranteed Rate Field, and Wintrust Arena.
