Detroit casino revenue decreases in March
Table games and slots generated $116.8m.
US.- Detroit’s three casinos generated $117.4m in revenue for March, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Table games and slots generated $116.8m, while retail sports betting generated $571,215.
Revenue from table games and slots at the three Detroit casinos decreased by 4.5 per cent year-on-year. However, March’s revenue showed a 19.2 per cent increase compared to February 2025.
MGM Grand Detroit Casino accounted for 46 per cent of the market share, MotorCity Casino 31 per cent and Hollywood Casino at Greektown 23 per cent. MGM’s revenue was down 5.1 per cent year-on-year at $53.8m, while MotorCity’s revenue decreased 6.4 per cent to $35.9m and Hollywood Casino at Greektown saw revenue decrease by 0.6 per cent to $27.1m.
The casinos paid $9.5m in state gaming taxes and reported submitting $13.9m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit. For the first quarter of 2025, table games and slots revenue decreased by 1.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
The combined retail sports betting handle for March was $12.1m. Gross receipts totalled $580,011. Retail sports betting’s qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) were down by 64.3 per cent compared to March 2024 and 30 per cent compared to February 2025. Casinos paid $21,592 in gaming taxes to the state and reported submitting $26,390 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit based on retail sports betting revenue.
