Detroit casino revenue decreases in June
The three casinos collectively generated $101.04m in revenue.
US.- Detroit’s three casinos collectively generated $101.04m in revenue in June, down 4 per cent year-over-year and 11 per cent from May 2025. According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, table games and slot machines accounted for $100.38m, while retail sports betting contributed $665,435.
Revenue from table games and slots decreased by 4 per cent year-over-year and 11 per cent from May 2025. MGM Grand Detroit Casino accounted for 48 per cent of the market share with revenue of $48.43m, down 0.6 per cent year-over-year. MotorCity Casino reported $30.63m, down 2.7 per cent, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown $21.32m, down 12.5 per cent.
The three casinos paid $8.1m in state gaming taxes in June, down from $8.5m in the same month in 2024. They submitted $11.9m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
The three Detroit casinos reported a combined retail sports betting handle of $7.2m, generating $666,374 in gross receipts. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) from retail sports betting fell 25.1 per cent from June 2024 and 48.1 per cent from May 2025. The casinos paid $25,153 in state taxes from retail sports betting revenue and submitted $30,743 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.
For the first half of 2025, combined table games and slots revenue was down 0.8 per cent year-over-year.
