Detroit casino revenue declines in March

Casinos generated $112.3m in AGR.

US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported that Detroit’s three commercial casinos, MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown, collectively generated $112.3m in aggregate revenue (AGR) in March. That’s a decrease of 4.4 per cent year-over-year but up from February ($100.6m).

Of the total AGR, table games and slots generated $111.5m, down 4.5 per cent from the same period in 2025 and up 11.5 per cent from February. MGM Grand Detroit Casino accounted for 47 per cent of the market share with revenue of $51.9m, down 3.5 per cent year-over-year.

MotorCity Casino accounted for 31 per cent of the market with $34.9m in revenue, down 2.7 per cent, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown 22 per cent ($24.7m, down 8.9 per cent). Casinos paid $9m in state gaming taxes, compared with $9.5m the same month in 2025. They reported submitting $13.3m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

The retail sports betting handle was $8.95m, and total gross receipts were $826,098. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) were $810,424, up 41.9 per cent year-over-year and 44.5 per cent from February 2026. Casinos paid $30,634 in state taxes and submitted $37,442 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.
