Detroit casino revenue rises year-over-year in February

Casinos generated $100.6m in AGR, up 1.8 per cent year on year.

US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported that Detroit’s three commercial casinos, MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown, collectively generated $100.6m in aggregate revenue (AGR) in February. That’s a rise of 1.8 per cent year on year and a decrease of 3.2 per cent from January 2026.

Of the total, table games and slots generated $100m, up 2 per cent from the same month in 2025 and down 3 per cent from January. MGM Grand Detroit Casino accounted for 48 per cent of the market share with revenue of $48.3m, up 4.1 per cent year on year. MotorCity Casino accounted for 29 per cent, with $29.4m, up 3.3 per cent, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown 23 per cent, with $22.3m, down 3.7 per cent.

The casinos paid $8.1m in gaming taxes, compared with $7.9m in the same period in 2025. They also reported submitting $11.9m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

The casinos generated a $6.5m retail sports betting handle. Total gross receipts were $578,285. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) declined 31.2 per cent from February 2025 and 27.2 per cent from January 2026. The casinos paid $21,204 in state taxes and submitted $25,916 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.
