Casino winnings down by 26% in Nevada
The latest report on casino winnings charts a slow return of players to venues.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released figures showing casino winnings for July hit $757 million. That’s down 26.2 per cent on the same month last year.
The figures highlight the continued low numbers as a consequence of the pandemic and reduced capacity policies.
The state has seen a reduction in tax revenues as a result, collecting just $32.3 million in July – a 56.3 per cent decline year-on-year. On the other hand, July 2020 was up 35.5 per cent compared to June 2020 which seems to be an optimistic situation for the gaming hub.
Gov. Steve Sisolak, meanwhile, faces increasing pressure to share state information to reveal coronavirus hotspots, as media outlets to try to expose sites that have contributed to the spread of the virus.
