US.- The San Manuel Casino in Highland, owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, has changed its name to the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel.

The venue will have a new visual identity, with a logo inspired by the ancestral lands of the Serrano people, in the shape of yucca plant fronds in a woven basket pattern. The logo symbolises an important part of San Manuel’s history in the region.

San Manuel Band of Mission Indians chairman Ken Ramirez said: “Today marks a new chapter of rebirth and boundless potential so we have given our property a new name—Yaamava’—the Serrano word for spring.

“We are immensely grateful to our tribal citizens, the thousands of San Manuel employees, and millions of valued guests over the years, all of whom helped make this moment possible.”

San Manuel broke ground on a $760m expansion project in July 2018. In August, San Manuel Casino launched the first phase of plans to expand into a major tourism destination in southern California.

It has added two new floors of gaming space, three new bars, a 24-hour restaurant and three luxury retail shops.
