UK operators dismiss accusations over underage gambling

After getting accusations of promoting underage gambling, UK operators have issued statements to deny the “completely untrue” accusations.

UK.- Minors gambling is a serious matter and no proper industry wants to see it happen. However, The Sunday Times accused UK operators of promoting underage gambling after gaining access to certain data. Of course, most companies have already dismissed the accusations as they are “completely untrue”.

“Media reports that betting companies have access to the Learning Records Service database are untrue,” gambling industry trade body the Betting and Gaming Council said. “GB Group (accused of providing data) provides age verification services to a range of organisations from banks to government agencies and betting companies.

Flutter said: “The claims made in the Sunday Times (…) are completely untrue.

“In fact the reverse is true. We use the company solely for age and identity verification services. That’s in order to ensure that no customer can open an account without confirming they are over 18.”

“The only information 32Red has access to is confirmation or rejection that the person requesting to open an account with us is over the age of 18,” 32Red said. “Not specific details about that person,” the company added on the report.
