Thai immigration police raid alleged india-facing online gambling operation in Pattaya

Five Indian nationals have been arrested in connection to a suspected backend operation for offshore gambling sites.

Thailand.- Thai immigration police have arrested five Indian men in Pattaya following a raid on a condominium which they claim to have been an administrative base for India-facing online gambling platforms. The residential building is located at Soi Thepprasit 17 in Bang Lamung district.

Officers say they found the suspects working on laptop computers surrounded by more than 20 mobile phones. They seized three laptops, 22 mobile phones, a tablet, credit cards, and notebooks containing records of financial transactions amounting to approximately THB2m (US$61,000).

Police believe the men handled key operational functions for gambling platforms, including customer service, payment processing, and player verification. All five men denied illegal activity.

Police say the raid highlights an emerging trend of foreign networks relocating support operations for illegal betting sites to Thailand, using residential properties and digital tools to avoid detection. The suspects have been charged with working without permits under Thailand’s 2017 foreign labour management law and transferred to Pattaya police for further legal proceedings. Additional charges may be filed pending analysis of seized devices and financial data.
