Singapore-HK air travel bubble to begin November 22
There will be no restrictions on motives for travel and no quarantine period required.
Asia.- Singapore and Hong Kong have finally agreed on a protocol to resume leisure travel without quarantine requirements from November 22.
Visitors heading each way will have to provide a negative Covid-19 test result taken no longer than 72 hours before departure, and those arriving in HK will have to take another test at the airport.
If any travellers test positive for Covid-19, they will have to pay their medical expenses.
Eligible travellers must not have been outside of HK or Singapore within 14 days prior to departure.
There will be one flight per day with 200 seats, although this could be increased to two daily flights as of December 7 if the pandemic situation in either city does not worsen.
The authorities have also agreed that if the weekly average of confirmed cases exceeds five per day on either side, the bubble will be suspended for two weeks.
Singapore has already reopened its borders to low risk countries such as Australia, Brunei, mainland China, Vietnam and New Zealand. Hong Kong is said to be in talks with 10 countries, including Japan and Thailand, to do the same.
